Privacy Policy
Last updated May 22, 2026.
Lapit uses your browser location only when you allow location access. Your location is used in the app to show nearby transit spots and calculate distance. Lapit does not intentionally store your live location in Firebase.
If you create an account, Firebase Auth stores your email and authentication details. Community pins, route connections, confirmations, reports, and moderation data may be stored so everyone can see shared transit information.
The app uses MapLibre, OpenStreetMap-related map data, Esri map tiles, Firebase, and browser APIs. These services may receive normal technical information such as IP address, device/browser details, and requested map areas.
Do not submit private personal information in pin names, notes, reports, or routes. Community submissions are intended to be public.
Terms of Use
Lapit is a community transit discovery prototype. Routes, pins, distances, and directions may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsafe. Always follow local rules, official signs, operator instructions, and your own judgment while traveling.
You may browse as a guest. You need an account to add, confirm, report, edit, or delete community content. By submitting content, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is not copied from restricted sources.
Lapit may hide, edit, reject, or delete pins, routes, accounts, or reports that are inaccurate, abusive, spammy, unsafe, or otherwise harmful to the community.
Community Guidelines
Add real transit spots only: terminals, stops, station entrances, transfer points, ferry stations, UV/van terminals, tricycle/TODA terminals, jeepney terminals, and route connections.
Place pins as accurately as possible. Use clear names, avoid duplicates, and do not add jokes, ads, private addresses, harassment, or misleading routes.
Use reports for wrong locations, wrong connections, duplicates, spam, or closed/moved spots. Community pins may remain unverified until reviewed or confirmed.
About Data Sources
Lapit combines built-in starter pins, OpenStreetMap-derived nearby transit discovery, and community-submitted pins/routes. Built-in pins are a starter layer, not a complete official database.
OpenStreetMap data is contributed by the OSM community. Map display uses MapLibre with map tiles and attribution shown on the map. Lapit does not use scraped Google Maps data as built-in pins.
Community data can be incomplete or wrong. The best version of Lapit improves through confirmations, reports, and admin moderation.
